  • At age 14, Els won the world junior golf championship in San Diego, California, with Phil Mickelson coming in second.
  • In addition to his U.S. appearances in 12 states, Els is scheduled to play tournaments in Qatar, Dubai, Thailand, China, England, South Africa, Germany, Scotland, Canada and Singapore this year.
  • Ernie started the 2007 season ranked No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking and has now occupied a spot in the top-10 for 655 consecutive weeks, more than any other golfer since the current ranking system came into operation in the mid-1980s.
