  • Three-time recipient of the Lionel Conacher Award for Canadian Male Athlete of the Year (2000, 2001 and 2003).
  • A big hockey fan, gave his 2003 Presidents Cup teammates Team Canada hockey jerseys with their names on the back.
  • Weir's 2003 Masters win was the first Major title for a player from Canada. It was also the first Major win for a lefty since Bob Charles won the 1963 British Open.
