Rain could affect fast greens today

The official weather forecast at Augusta National Golf Club says more clouds will move in overnight, with the chance of showers today.
Sprinkles might turn to steam if they arrive. A high temperature in the low 80s grilled the course Saturday, leaving two words among every players' prognosis for today's round: hard and fast.
"I think a lot of the players are just going to have to see and deal with it as it is right now," Retief Goosen (Stats | Bio) said."
He took a turn at handing out the unofficial Masters forecast.
"We all know that it's not going to rain (today), so we just have to get ready for it," Goosen said.
The forecast calls for a shower or two this morning and scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
On Saturday Stuart Appleby (Stats | Bio) saw two sinkable birdie putts trickle over the cup then gain momentum and go well past .
"It's really starting to dry out and get blue and fast," Appleby said. "I don't mind it firm. I like it firm. But obviously these greens can't get much harder or quicker. They just can't and they won't."
The fast greens Saturday made a few changes to Stewart Cink (Stats | Bio) 's game plan. He played a bogey-free round with three birdies.
"I hit a 3-wood off the tee a couple of times today where I hit driver on Nos. 1 and 7 because of the speed of these fairways and the weather," Cink said.
Cink disagreed with Appleby's assessment of the greens.
"It can go faster. It can cook more, because the balls still get a little mud on it. When you walk down the fairways in the landing area, you can see a lot of ball marks that are fresh," Cink said. "It's only going to get faster, and that makes this course play even narrower."
Cink wouldn't mind playing another day in the oven.
"It's nice out here for us, and it's beautiful for all the patrons," he said.
