Rental Guide

Suggested Rental Rates

These prices reflect properties in good to excellent condition with suitably functioning appliances and contemporary amenities. Maid service is estimated at $55-$80 per visit for a 4 bedroom, 2.5 to 3.5 bath home. The amount of service required such as the number of times bed linens are changed also manipulates the per visit price. Please note that homes with 4 bedrooms or more need to have daily maid service integrated or a price per visit listed on your application. Listing your home does not guarantee a rental. Remember being competitive in the pricing of your home will assist in the rental of your property. These are merely suggested rental rates and can vary with each home.

Augusta Chronicle Masters Rental- “Rent Your Home” (Homeowners-renting out house-Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: When is the best time to submit my application?

A: Applications should be submitted as soon as possible.  Inquiries are received every day.  Around 35% of our rentals happen between the time the
Tournament ends and December 31st.

Q: How should I determine my price?

A: A suggested rental rates form is supplied by us. Bigger homes and homes that have high quality facilities can demand a superior rate. However, you do want to remain competitive with other homes in your class and region.

Q: Should maid service be included?

A: Daily maid service is required for homes with four or more bedrooms.  (Please consider this when factoring your rental rate).  For homes with three bedrooms or less:  If you choose to have maid service, you can either build it into your rate or you can offer the service with an added fee.  Augusta.com includes suggested maid services in case you do not already have a housekeeper.

Q: Do I need to buy all new bath and bed linen?

A: You want to make sure that your linens are in very good condition, not torn or shredded. If you rent or plan to rent yearly, it is a good notion to buy a new set or two each year to preserve your home’s value.  However it is not necessary to purchase all new linen annually.

Q: If I list with Augusta.com does that guarantee that my home will be rented?

A: Listing your home does not secure a rental. We work vigorously to rent out as many homes as possible. This is why we stress the importance of listing early and keeping competitive rates. The more visible your home is, the greater the probability that your house will be rented.

Q: If my home is rented how will I be informed?

A: We supply the homeowner with all the specifications before we confirm a rental contract.  As soon as both the homeowner and the renter reach an agreement, an official rental contract is issued.

Q: How is a host different from a sleeper home?

A: A home where there is a great amount of entertaining, crowds of people coming and going, a tent set up, etc. is categorized as a host home.  Please do not confuse entertaining with hosting small gatherings and guests using the facilities and amenities.  We do our best to question the renters of how they plan on using the home and then convey this information to the homeowner before confirming the booking.

Q: What should I do if I do NOT want cooking in my home?

A: Guests will have complete access to the kitchen and all its facilities. A small family preparing meals, a small gathering, etc is not a host or entertaining home. Guests have paid for the use of these amenities.

Q: What happens if my home should be damaged?

A: All guests are required to sign a rental contract stating that they agree that they are liable to the homeowner for all costs and damages to the rental property and/or the homeowner’s possessions during the period of the rental agreement.  Please note that this agreement does not take into account normalwear and tear. Augusta.com cannot be held responsible for any damage, as we are not a participant in the rentalagreement between the renter and the homeowner.  However, we will assist with communication to get the problemsettled.

Q: Are renters allowed to smoke in my home?

A: We have a no smoking policy for all our rentals, unless otherwise stated by the homeowner in writing.  We also recommend that homeowners display “No Smoking” signs in the kitchen and family areas.  Having a designated smoking area and butt receptacle outside the home is suggested.

Q: How will I receive payment?

A: A forty percent payment is due within two weeks of the date of the rental agreement. The full balance is due by February 15th.

Q: Are rentals for a full week only?

A: Having a four night and/or a seven night rate is recommended. If your home is only rented for four nights we can attempt to find another renter for the remaining available nights. Homeowners often acquire a larger profit this way, rather than a single seven night contract.

Q: Do I have to submit a new application every year?

A: Yes.  Applications are required yearly. This allows you to feature changes that you have made to your home.  You can also submit updated photos and pricing if you desire to do so.

Q:  Do I still have to reapply and pay Augusta.com a rental charge if a guest wishes to rent my home for the next Masters tournament?

A: Though you are not bound legally, it is in your best interest to rent your home through Augusta.com.  We handle the paper work, so you won’t have to.  Augusta.com issues a formal rental agreement, makes sure the renter signs a copy accepting liability, payment, and mediate claims and other issues. Also, we are your best chance of finding another renter if the renter from the previous year should change their mind.

Q: How will my renters get keys to my home?

A: It is the homeowner’s responsibility to notify renters about keys and how to gain entrance to the home before their arrival.  If the renter has not contacted you within a reasonable time frame, you should get in touch with them about their arrival and departure time.

Q: Is the $15.00 processing fee a yearly charge?

A: Yes, the processing fee must be paid each year you rent your home using Augusta.com.

Q: Will I increase the chances of my home being rented if I call Augusta.com often for updates?

A: We do everything within our power to rent all properties, but we cannot guarantee that calling Augusta.com often will increase the likelihood of your home being rented.  We are happy to update you, but we do not want to get distracted from finding possible rental prospects.

A host home is characteristically a home where there is a large amount of entertaining, lots of people coming and going or tent set up, etc.

Q: Is smoking allowed in the home?

A: All rentals have a “no smoking policy” unless otherwise stated in writing by the homeowner.

Q: What happens if there are damages to the home?

A: All guests sign a rental agreement stating that they are liable to the homeowner for all costs and damages to the rental property and/or the homeowner’s possessions during the period of the rental agreement.  However, this does not include regularwear and tear. Augusta.com cannot be held responsible for any damage, as we are not a participant in the rentalagreement between the renter and the homeowner.  However, we will assist with communication to get the problemsettled.

Q: What if the accommodations are falsely advertised?

A: The property details are provided by the homeowner and are considered reliable.  However, they are not guaranteed and are subject to verification. Although Augusta.com makes every effort to ensure accurate information, they are not a party to the rental contract between the renter and the homeowner.  The rental agreement states that the renter releases Augusta.com, the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Augusta National, Inc. from any and all claims that arise between the homeowner and the renter.

Q: What are check-in and check-out times?

A: The time for check-in time can be arranged with the homeowner. The usual checkout time is 12:00 PM, however many homeowners are flexible with respect to this matter.

Q: How do I get keys and gain entrance to the home?

A: You should contact the homeowner well in advance of tournament week to set up a time and place to obtain keys to the home. Many homeowners, who rent annually, have designated places where they leave keys. Other homeowners may prefer to meet their renters and show them around their home.
